The Iowa state fair is not like any other fair it is HUGE!
What I write will not come close to giving this fair the credit it deserves..people come form all over the state to enter farm animals, food, crafts, art work ect. in the Iowa state fair.
In my opinion some of the best things to do are visit the Ag building where you will find the bee hives and all the garden veggies plants and flowers that fellow Iowans have grown and the big butter cow made out of you guessed it butter! the Varied industry's building which is one of the few air conditioned buildings at the fair. Grandfathers farm where there are donation horse rides and the Bud tent is fun for when the kids are at home. It is pricey the food is unhealthy and expensive but I wait all year long for fair food and it can not be beat.
I love the Iowa state fair!!
