This is an old fashioned bakery, where you get fresh goods every day, rather than the mass produced baked items you find in a supermarket, prepackaged yet touted as fresh.
The store is located on E. 4th in the Carousel District of downtown Mansfield and has fresh baked breakfast goodies, such as buns and Danishs and rolls as well as breads, cakes and cookies. If you get there early enough, you can get them warm from the oven.
Calling ahead, you can get an assortment of buns and Danishs to take to your office, all ready packaged up in the usual bakery box and ready for you to just pick up and go. I have a couple of favorites, but the cinnamon pecan buns are some of my favorites.
They also make yummy preordered sheet cakes, with a most delicious butter cream icing. You can also order other kinds of cakes, depending on the size of the cake you want, or there are cakes available if you are doing that last minute thing.
There are two locations, and both are supplied from the same bakery so you know you can get the same quality at both locations. Do stop in for something yummy and different at the Buckeye Bakery.
