My local paper is The Casper Star Tribune. The week leading up to Labor Day, it is packaed with sale flyers, as well as adds in the paper from my local businesses and car dealerships. Every year around this time there is also something called Car Wars in my area. Car Wars is an event in which every car dealership in town takes it cars to the Event's Center Parking lot and they battle it out to sell you a car at a great deal. You can get a real good deal on a car here.
I know that JCPenny's really pumps out the flyers in my local newspaper, and also sometimes if they are having a really big sale, I'll get something in the mail. They also have the "It's all inside" comercials on TV. I am sure that your local paper has the same kind of thing going on as mine does. Some of my local businesss even offer a special discont for bringing the add in, or mentioning that you saw their add in your local paper.
If you do not se any adds, usually just doing to your favorite stores on Labor Day, or Labor Day weekend will probably have you finding some very good sales, and always chack clearance racks! I am always amazed at what I find on them!
