Charter Communications is the only choice around here for cable tv. You can get dish network from multiple places, but only Charter does cable.
The prices are fairly high, mostly due to the fact that they -are- the only ones to choose from. Getting internet, digital cable, and a DVR box will run you $125 a month! That is after they raised prices back in January. The raise went up $20- $5 for internet, and $15 for the DVR.
The customer service on the phone leaves a lot to be desired, as well. I've never had a problem at the payment center in town. However, when I call, they have a new policy- review the entire account, and try to sell them what they don't already have! So, what they do is ask about every detail, what you watch, and then try their hardest to sell you more things.
It can often take days for them to get someone out here to fix a downed wire, as well. They tap into the cable by draping a wire across our backyard, into the parkinglot behind us. When it's windy, or storming bad, it comes loose, and falls down. We've lived here 3 years now, and have had to have that fixed about 5 times. One time they replaced it all together, but that hasn't stopped it from falling down when it feels the need.
Overall, I think they could do a lot better than they do.
