Businiess name:  Comfort Inn Maingate

This past summer, my husband, daughter, parents and I visited Cedar Point, and stayed two nights at this hotel. When I booked the hotel, I did so based on the good reputation Choice Hotels have, and prior good experiences at Comfort Inns. Sadly, I think this is the hotel that Choice Hotels either forgot about or chose to ignore. Many aspects of the building seemed old and out of date. The exterior of the hotel had chipping paint. The carpet in the room was old, along with the bedspreads. The rooms were, thankfully clean. Our clock radio didn't work. When first entering the room, there was a letter from the hotel manager explaining we may experience a problem with bugs. Big June bugs. And not to bother calling the front desk, that there was nothing the hotel could do, but instead to dim our lights so they wouldn't be attracted to it?? Thankfully, we never saw one of the said bugs!! Our stay included a continental breakfast. It was very good, and the staff was very friendly, but the space they have reserved for the breakfast was way too small. Only 4 families of 4 could fit in there, and even then the back of your chair was hitting against the back of the one behind you. When we return to Cedar Point next, we'll be seeking lodging elsewhere. I was very disappointed in this property, as it didn't live up the Comfort Inn reputation at all.
