Review content:
My daughter is now 3.5 yrs old, but when she was only 8days old she got really sick & had a temp of 100.5* The dr said to bring her there. The dr that seen us in th e.r. was *wonderful* she took me aside in the room & walked me through the whole process from start to finish of doing a spinal tap. She talked to me for about 15-20 min's and did not rush me for one minute! I was not aloud to be in the room while they did this, but as soon as they were done, they called me back to teh room. She explained to me that her spinal fluid looked clear and she didn't think she had anything, but that they would have to admit her for 48hrs to observe her.
Come to find out my babys dr came in to see us, that they had found puss & blood in her spinal fluid, she had meningitis. Wow- talk about speechless! I was told they would keep her 7-14days depending on if had viral or bacterial meningitis.
The staff was absolutely wonderful to us! WE ended up being in their 7 days, she did have viral meningitis. From where she was just 8 days old, being "postpartum" they supplied me with the necessities that you need after having a baby, even gave me like 2 cans of dermaplast! In fact they left the 2nd one without me even asking on the bathroom sink! Every time they came in to check on her they'd ask me if I needed anything. They tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible, especially since I had just had a baby & hadn't had time to recover from that!
