The Wilkes-Barre location of PetSmart is my favorite place to shop for pet supplies. They are conveniently located, have ample parking, and have the best staff! There is always someone around to offer assistance, and they really go above and beyond offering great customer service. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes in a check-out line, and have never had trouble finding a staff member to assist with something.
On my most recent visit, I was looking for a larger cage for my son's ever growing Syrian hamster. I found a nice three level cage with the price of $129.99. I noticed that the one on the shelf was a little worn, and at that price, though reasonable, I was looking for one that was in perfect condition. The helpful staff member went to the back to see if there was another cage like it, and returned saying that it was the only one. She did however say that if we elected to take that one, the manager said he would gladly reduce the price by 20%. I thought that was a wonderful offer, and appreicated the woman helping us asking the manager before even returning to tell us there was not another cage.
When I took the cage to the register, the cashier asked, "Is this the cage the manager is reducing?" and said that the manager already gave them permission to do the markdown, and he was nearby to perform the over-ride procedure on the register.
I was quite impressed. Not only did they offer a discount without my asking, they also made the run like clockwork.
If you live in the area and are looking for pet supplies, I highly recommend visiting this location of PetSmart. I think you will be pleased with the selection, prices, and service!
(Also, their live pets seem to be well cared for, cages/habitats very clean. We have purchased hamsters and parakeets from this location, and the pets were healthy, well cared for, and reasonably priced)
