I wouldn't recommend Sky bank to anyone interested in opening an account. A few years ago, I needed a small loan, and they needed the title to my car to secure the loan. They called me the next day, and told me I forgot to leave the title with them. I didn't forget, all I had was the copy they gave me. So I had to go get a new one, which annoyed me, even though they paid the $12 fee involved. My father deposited money once and it went into my sister’s account. A friend of mine deposited her paycheck and she said it disappeared. No sign of it for a few months, nobody knew where it was. My husband was accused of withdrawing $450 from their ATM without having the funds available, and was harassed repeatedly for it. It isn't even possible to withdraw that much. I've heard so many other stories about them, I forget half of them.
They're also not the friendliest bank to be dealing with. Most of the staff has always been rude to me, supposedly because I wasn't one of their "big money" accounts. Other people tell me they've never had that problem, but I switched banks a long time ago.
