My family and I went and toured this battleship. My brother is in the Army and lived in NC at the time.. My parents, my family and his family all met in NC at Kure Beach. This was our first place to visit.
What an amazing experience... This ship was big and awesome. It took us almost 3 hours to get through it. I must say that it was a little eerie at times going down under. The tours are self-guided... so you go at your own pace.. It was really cool to see how the navy men lived back in WWII. They had doctors room, kitchens, mess halls, bunk rooms (several).
My daughters favorite part was the anchor on the deck.. She couldn't believe how big it was...
The whole tour of the ship was pretty cool. A great family trip.
