Life Alive is definitely the best place to eat I've ever been. It's as hippie as you can possibly get. New age motivational slogans written daily on the wall behind the counter. They sell vitamins and supplements in one corner of the establishment, along with some good books. The menu consists of smoothies (including wheat grass, yechh), bowls of various whole grain/steamed vegetable dishes or wraps, and coffee/tea. The bowls are what sets them apart. It's all organic. You can get things as diverse as quinoa, shiitakes, beets, corn, tofu, tomatoes, eggs, sunflower seeds, etc. all mixed together with some of the most delicious sauces I've ever tasted. Nothing is soggy or browned, it's all steamed to order. They have excellent miso soup, but the smoothies are overpriced. The bathroom is one of the most surprising things I've ever seen indoors, and for sure the most interesting bathroom I've ever seen. In the bathtub and all along the walls are big green houseplants. It smells like the most intensely fresh air in there at all times. The staff is extremely friendly too.
