This weekend we went to a wedding in State College, PA. Ours friends reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn. It was convenient to the location of both the reception and the wedding, located off College parkway (highway 26). The lobby was inviting and nice, and the staff was friendly. We did have a little snafu with "early check-in." despite checking on this over 24 hours before and having it "confirmed" the girl that checked us in said that they do not "confirm" early check in! ACK! She said that the person who told us that was a new employee who was misinformed. We did eventually get our room early, because we stood there until they found us something. We were actually put in a room that was slightly larger than the one we had reserved. Check in time was 3pm, but we were told that most rooms were ready by noon. Our friends later told us that when they arrived at quarter past 3 , their room was not ready. They couldn't get in a room to freshen up until 3:30 (the wedding was at 4!!!!). the rooms were nice and clean and LARGE, for the price. i'm a member of hilton honors, so i got free water as a "perk." we had a whirl pool tub, microwave and fridge. a good value all around, but they need to work on their employees knowing the policies!!!
