Review content:
Every now and then, I will write a negative review or a review that doesn't receive very many stars regarding a local business here in Bakersfield. I base my review on fact and personal experience from myself, and a couple of times from those of family members or friends. This review is of an attorney-at-law is from personal experience, and recent, and I have been waiting to the very end of a case, before I wrote this review. I wanted to make sure that whatever I wrote as a review was totally 100 percent accurate and non bias from my side. Sylvia Lopez, I thought was going to be a great choice when I was faced with the need to hire an attorney to represent me in a claim/case. I had seen some of her work in the past, and thought she would be a good person to represent me. I have always worked in healthcare and dealt with her services from the other side, from business to business. Sylvia handles mainly worker comp and disability (Soc. Sec.) cases, etc. To make this very long story short, she was never there for me. I did all of my own research, writing the law judge letters and provided him with facts, she didn't. I never once saw or heard from her in over one year. She has an assistant named Dalia, who does much of her grunt work, and she is a grunt. She was many times, short and snappy with me by phone. Not a pleasing personality, at times. I would ask for things, and not receive them, so I became smart and began asking for things by writing, so that it was documented. This office does not care, never seemed to, and she let this drag on until I took the bull by the horns and won my case. NO HELP FROM HER! She ended up receiving almost half of my monies due, not the 1/4 percent that is stated. I have already received statements for $500.00 more additional dollars and she has been calling me, and it has only been a matter of a few weeks! WHOA! Well, even when you are ill, it does not matter, fine print always gets you, so, Now, that she is fully paid all of her millions from me (HAHAH - JUST KIDDING, NOT EVEN THAT MUCH by a long shot, hardly much at all), I feel safe in rating her services at less than one star! I felt intimidated to do so before today! So sad that you hire and give someone all of your money to have your life literally in their hands, and you feel intimidated by them, do not trust them, and fear retaliation! Believe me when I say, do not ever think of hiring her, she will take your money and make you feel like you are nothing! How is that for customer service! ~ She gives NONE~ and one last comment, I am by far, very non prejudice or a racist person. But, I felt that if I were of a different culture, I may have gotten better service, and I may have at least felt a little more respected. Remember, I know her from past business practice, and now I know her from the other (client) side, and I would not dare to mention this, if I did not have an inckling into this fact! Thumbs down to this attorney-at-law! I wonder if she or anyone who knows her, will ever read this review of her business? I think a Judy's Book business card should be mailed along with her final payment for terrible service! But, that would be petty, so I will just write her a final letter of dis-satisfaction. I wish I would have chosen another attorney, not the right choice for me.
