Review content:
I have been Dr. Vanterpool's patient for three years. I credit her with saving my life when I contracted a very potent bacteria in my bloodstream. While enduring chills and fever, I thought I had the flu or something similar. When I lost the sight in my right eye, my eye doctor said i should see my regular physician. He telephoned her and she took me immediately. She checked me into Marian hospital and started blood tests and cultures which showed the bacteria causing the problem. She conferred with an infectious disease specialist in Ventura and together they decided on the antibiotics to give me intravenously. I had to be on the IVs for 6 weeks but I responded very well. She takes time to listen to your problems and prescribe the necessary treatment. I agree with a previous review that the outer office personnel were a bit of a problem but that has been corrected. Her nurse Shauna is very caring and helpful during appointments. Thank you Dr. Joy
