Review content:
Joe Roots recently moved to 8th & Peninsula Drive, just up from where it used to be located at the mouth of the gate of the Peninsula. This bigger and better restaurant has proved to be a real asset to the business as not only can they accommodate more people, the restaurant itself is just on the outskirts of the sometimes heavy traffic that can happen with Waldameer Park and Presque Isle visitors traveling at the same time and parking is much more plentiful!
A wonderful place to dine for a fair price, don't let the sit down style scare you into thinking it's over budget. While it may be a bit more expensive then hitting McD's or something, the quality of food is superb and the service is excellent.
A full bar offers the ability to have a nice drink before, during or after dinner. Specials run daily and I have yet to get anything out of there that wasn't top rate! Of course you have to experience the fresh Lake Erie perch if you're a tourist! Don't fear, those non fish eating friends with you won't be upset with the huge array of other meats to choose from and even the vegetarian friend can easily be accommodated with this spectacular menu. Kids menu is also offered and it is definitely a family friendly atmosphere.
Dress code is relaxed, everything from slightly dressy to completely casual shorts and sandals. Nobody feels out of place. They expect a large amount of their crowd to be people coming off the beach and welcome the care free attire for a relaxed dinner.
