Review content:
This Luby's Cafeteria, located on Mason Rd. near I-10, offers the convenience of a cafeteria-style restaurant with updated dishes. I heard that they were recently bought out by the Pappa's chain of restaurants. The new ownership is working to update the menu and offer healthy alternatives. I still order the "Luann" platter, with a half portion of meat, 2 sides, and a roll. However, my husband often gets a large chicken Caesar salad or one of their new chicken dishes that is more similar to a sit-down restaurant entree. With two small children, we dine here frequently because of the convenience. Luby's has full-sized high chairs, and each one comes with a moist towlet, crayons, coloring page, graham crackers, a plastic bib and a balloon. The high chair, along with the quick serving line, made this cafeteria a regular for us when the kids were infants. Now that they are older, we enjoy their free kids meals on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The kids meal includes a kids entree, 2 sides, bread, drink, and jello. This is quite a deal! My only complaint is that their prices seem to have gone up since they are making the menu "fancier." Luby's used to be an inexpensive place to eat, but now it costs the same as just about any sit-down restaurant out there.
