Businiess name:  Post Ranch Inn

A great recommendation for an 18th wedding anniversary (I'm not telling whose!). Anyway, this place is incredible, and I mean incredibly expensive, but I can see why. It is set in Big Sur. This only two hours from the Bay Area but feels like it is a million miles. The Inn itself has just 30 rooms and is a converted homestead. It is 1000 feet above the water and you literally feel like you are flying when you stay there. The atmosphere is amazing. There is a spa of course and there is an incredible pool set in an orchard. There is even a "yurt" where you do yoga and other new age stuff. The history of the place is amazing and Bill Post who is 80 years old still gives nature tours. I myself tried the two mile climb up the old county road that before Route 1 was the only way in. It is 1500 vertical feet in two miles. Wow, great exercise. This place has been a top hotel resort in Conde Naste Traveler for 10 years from 1995-2005. Amazing. Get there if you can in your life time!
