Menard's is one of my second homes. :)
I am there at least 1 time per week, except during the winter. The staff at this particular store are ALWAYS friendly, very helpful, and very knowledgeable. If by chance you ask one of the staff and they are not 100% sure of the answer they will find another employee that will know.
The prices are TERRIFIC! As of now, we have 2 Major Hardware Stores in town. Menard's has better prices than their competitor 97% of the time.
Now, let me tell you, for those who have never visited a Menard's, just some of the items you can buy there:
Wood
Nails
Doors/Windows/Blinds/Small selection of curtains
Carpet/Tiles/Floorboards/etc.
Wall Coverings (Paint/Stains/Wall Paper/Etc)
Mattresses (YES, I did say mattresses, it is a fairly new addition at this store)
Scrapbooking supplies/Reading & Kids Books/Photo Albums/Pictures/Picture frames
Appliances (Refrigerators/Dryers/Washers/Microwaves/etc)
Furniture and such (Toilets/Counters/Cupboards/Entire kitchens/Desks/Entertainment Stands/Book Cases/Outdoor furniture including picnic benches/etc)
Garden supplies (Mulch/Flowers/Seeds/Bulbs/Trees/Shrubs/Pots/Garden Tools/Hoses and Hose Holders/Sprayers/Grass Seed/Fertilizer/Bug Killer/Weed Killer/Pots)
Yard decorations (an amount that will surpass your imagination)
Tools (Hand held/Manuals/Electrical/Battery Operated - Everything you can imagine)
Electrical Supplies/Lighting (Chandeliers/Lamps/Lights/Bulbs/Electrical Switches/Cords/Etc)
Candy
Cleaning Supplies (Trash cans and bags/Brooms/Mops/Dust pans/Laundry Detergent/Cleaning sprays/Rags/Brushes/Gloves/Etc)
Odds and Ends (Gloves/Socks/Shaving Razors/etc)
Oh, I know I am missing a bunch of it. But you see Menard's is truly a one stop shop for any size (tiny/small/medium/large) job you have in mind.
