Review content:
I am a long time supporter of Target their employees are great because they are treated well by the management (I know because my mom worked there for many years). However, their return policies have become very unpleasant!.
My wife and I were married were married and had our baby less then 12 months apart. Not surprisingly we ended up quite a few unwanted gifts (not to mention the birthday and holiday gifts).
First, when you return an item without a receipt they require you to buy an item in the same department as the returned item. We tried to return an ugly bathroom rug we received as a baby shower gift. They we requiring us to buy a bathroom product, even though we need diapers, not bath towels!!! :-( What difference does it make what part of the store we spend our credit in?!?
Second, we were denied the right to make any more returns without receipts. I am tired of being treated like a criminal when returning unwanted gifts! We feel it is inappropriate to ask for receipts for unwanted gifts. Does my grandma really need to be told we didn't appreciate her gift?
We still shop at Target, but we are considering requesting our family stop purchasing gifts from them.
