Review content:
I just returned from having lunch at Mother's in Gretna with a friend. This place is very busy at lunch time and rightly so - their food is plentiful and good. They have a variety of lunch selections, mostly American and Greek food. Their Greek Salad is particularly good and so is the Gyro. The Tzatziki sauce has a nice zing to it and the pita bread is hot and fresh. The eggplant and the rice pilaf are outstanding!
The service is pleasant, if a bit on the slow side and slightly erratic. We ordered two different beverages, but both received the Iced Tea (which was definitely on the weak side). It would be nice to get entrées for everybody in the party served at the same time. The refills were not very timely and we had to attract the waitresses attention to get a to-go box. To compensate for this, I guess, two different waitresses presented us with a bill for the same meal...
Good food, pleasant if erratic service, plenty of metered parking in front of the restaurant - a good spot for lunch in Gretna for sure.
