I signed up for Dish network service in June 2005, wow what a mistake. I signed up through a local vendor who is no longer in business, no wonder. Not only was he rude and unprofessional, none of my dealings with Dish Network have been any different. Once you sign the contract you can forget anything related to service. We were told that on the 12 month contract our equipment would be under warranty. We assumed that meant they would fix anything faulty. Yes, they did, but they forgot to mention that they charge was $29.00 and $99 once the equipment is out of warranty.
When we turn on the tv we have to wait for the satellite to find the signal, which takes at least a minute. Most of the time it's not an issue but when you're in a hurry to catch a news story or weather alert it's a long wait. the wind blows it moves the dish outside, if/when it loses the signal you're out a service call fee.
The people are rude, hateful, and unhelpful. God help those who got talked into signing a 2 year contract or longer. We had to go for the biggest channel package to get very few that we were actually interested in watching because otherwise you get a bunch of channels that you probably won't watch just like we did. We figured the Golf channel was pro golf, not so, it was college golf. You have to pay extra for most movie channels. We went from paying $45.00 for cable in 4 rooms to $85 a month for cable in 4 rooms, wow, what a savings. Don't fall for it and don't tolerate their horrific service.
