This is without a doubt one of THE BEST Mexican restaurants I have been to (and this is alot having spent 2 years in TX). They have very AUTHENTIC mexican food - not a Tex-Mex variation. The food is not very spicey, like most percieve Mexican to be. It is however packed with flavor and freshness. They even serve Fish Tacos - a very hard core mexican tradition. Not the greatest ever - but really quite tasty. They may sound gross - but you don't know what you are missing until you try one.
The place is a bit small, but the atmosphere is very "fun" and feels very Mexican. Because of the size, it always feels like it is crowded, but it is not unpleasantly loud, nor do you ever have to wait for a table. Prices are fantastic!!!! Even compared to other restaurants, for the quality food and portions, you will walk away stuffed, and barely feel the pinch in your wallet.
I highly recommend this place. IF you "aren't sure" about Mexican, or are worried about "too spicey" let me allay your fears, this place will DEFINATELY turn you on to mexican food. Even their simple fare such as Tacos are fantastic. Get into some of their burritos or chimichangas, and things really start punching up in flavor. They have lots of sampler platers too, so you can get a "taste" without worrying if you will like it or not. Service is usually pretty fast, so lunch time dining is very doable. They usually have some sort of daily special that is worth consideration. Deserts are great too - who can say no to "fried Cheescake"?
Give it a try, you will NOT be disapointed!
