If there was an option for zero stars, I'd choose that.
I had an awful experience with this moving company and I could not, with good conscience, recommend anyone use them. It's not worth the chance you take with your furniture. Several of my pieces of furniture were damaged. Not just one, but several. My computer desk is broken.
When the owner came to assess the damage he told me that it's a trend in the moving industry to not guarantee the safe transport of assemble furniture (such as Sauder, Bush, O'Sullivan). He said he should have had me sign a waiver of responsibility for those types of items. Why did I hire a professional if they're not going to take the utmost care in moving my items? I understand that accidents happen but the owner wasn't even nice about ANYTHING. He was completely rude to me. He's supposedly going to send someone out next week to fix the desk - with glue. I won't hold my breath waiting for the repairman (if he doesn't come though, I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau).
As far as the price, per hour they are comparable. I don't believe they are the most efficient however. They had a temp on the crew - he had never moved anything before, and there was no training. I don't believe that is very professional.
The whole experience has left me so upset. I realize my money is spent. I wouldn't mind so much having spent the money if so many of my items weren't damaged in transit. They had a ton of blankets on the truck but I am not sure they used them.
If you have other options and you care about your belongings I implore you to investigate. Don't take the chance that your items will be damaged too. Or that you will be treated terribly when you ask about the replacement of them.
I hired movers instead of renting a U-Haul and recruiting my friends to help because I had heavy items that are very important to me, and very heavy. I am sick to my stomach that I paid so much money to have things broken and scratched, etc.
Bottom line: An-sucks.
