Review content:
We originally met Dr. Buford and his wife (who is also a vet) a few months after they relocated to Newberry. We had a kitten that we had found in the middle of a road sitting next to it's dead siblings. We brought her home but she didn't do well at all. She began having massive seizures and in desperation we called a few vets in the area. The first vet we called wouldn't even take our call. The receptionist suggested that we just take the kitten to an emergency clinic in Columbia (about 40 miles away). We simply couldn't afford that kind of money on a kitten that didn't look like it was going to survive. We then called Dr. Buford. His wife spoke to us and gave very practical advice and helped us accept the decision that the kitten needed to be put down because of the likelihood it had already suffered massive brain damage.
She was so kind and caring that we decided to take one of our four dogs to see them. He has immune system problems and is constantly fighting with Demodex Mange. Dr. Buford was the only vet who was ever able to adequately treat him! His treatment was fast, caring, and he even worked around our schedules to see Kundun.
I heartily recommend Dr. Buford to anyone who needs a vet. His specialty is large animals (farm animals) but he is also great with dogs. His wife who has taken time off to raise their kids will be rejoining the practice in the future. Her specialty is companion animals.
Give them a try. Their fees are very reasonable and you won't find a nicer doctor for your animals!
