Davis Sport Shop is the kind of store that every outdoorsmen loves. I pass this store frequently because it's right off exit 15 of the New York State Thruway. Enter the store and you're greeted (or scared out of your mind) by a large stuffed bear, obviously someone's tropy catch. Davis offers taxidermy services in addition to running the retail store.
Davis carries all manner of supplies and equipment for hunting, fishing, and archery. Walk the large spacious aisles and you'll see virtually all kinds of reels, rods, bows and arrows, boats (yes, they carry boats), hunting gear, clothing and supplies for the sports enthusiast. I love their heavy socks, lined flannel jeans, and hunting caps w/flaps. Don't see what you want or you don't see your size? Stop by the front counter and one of the staff will be happy to special order your item.
Love their shiny aluminum fishing tackle boxes...they make great cases for my makeup. Who knew?
Plenty of on-sight parking. Just look for the lot with pick up trucks fitted with roof racks.
One last note, when they run a sale, don't even think of parking in the lot; drive down about 1/2 mile and you'll see another large dirt lot on your right hand side which has free shuttle bus service to and from the store.
