By far our favorite place to eat in Denver. Not only is the food outstanding, but the staff is top-notch. Many of them have been around for years. Good wine list. Excellent specialty martinis. Classic American cuisine with some noodle dishes. I usually get the fish special or the Filet. A fine place to eat lunch, too. When I was unemployed, I'd treat myself to a nice lunch once a month. I'd sit at the bar and chat with the bartender and eat sumptuous food for a steal. Always a treat -- especially the time I had escolar with a lemon and butter sauce and my bill came only to $14. Decor is classic American -- feels like you're going back in time to the '40s. Upscale, but relaxed and never pretentious. I feel comfortable going there in a nice top and jeans. Great place for groups. I love eating there with a group of 4-5 people -- animated conversation, lots of laughter over glasses of wine while the traffic on 17th Ave streams by. Can't leave without a slice of their key lime pie.
