Businiess name:  Suruki Supermarket

Review content:
I think that I reviewed "part" of this store under "Sozai Corner" because somebody brought sushi from them for me, and the label said Sozai Corner so that's what I assumed the store was called... Anyways, now that I've been to the actual place on 4th, I have to review it. Suruki Supermarket is another cute Japanese market in San Mateo. They sell the usual Japanese noodles, seaweed, curries, and other delicacies. My favorite part about this place, however, and WHY I came here, was because of the sushi corner...which I guess they refer to as the "Sozai Corner" (anybody know what "sozai" means? maybe that could help...). So, at about 6:25, people start coming in and lining up in front of the sushi section. Then, an employee of the market comes with a red sharpie and starts marking "half off" on everything. Then, five minutes later, he calls "SIX-THIRTY!" And the people start scrambling and rushing and pushing to get as many boxes of the sushi of their choice as they can. When I came in here, I didn't know about this little rushing game, so I thought I was being smart, and picked out all the sushi I wanted before they marked it down. Then I went to pay for it, thinking it was half price. WARNING: THEY WILL NOT, I REPEAT NOT, CHARGE YOUR SUSHI AS HALF PRICED IF IT IS NOT 6:30 YET. Lol..so, poor me had to get into the back of the line (the proper way) and wait until 6:30 in order to get my discounted sushi :) All in all, this market is awesome, with the same locals coming here everyday at the same time..for that delicious low priced sushi. I will definitely come here again!
