Review content:
My mom is always taking my daughter to the dollar store and coming home with the coolest things, so one day I decided to go with her and I never knew that you could have so much fun at the dollar store! I also didn't realize how quickly the dollars could add up!
Dollar Tree is definitely different from other "dollar" stores that I have been in. It is very well organized and I have actually found a lot of quality items there. It is a great place to get kids books (I have found that their selection fluctuates, but we have gotten quite a few good board books for my daughter here). They also have great deals on coloring books. I wouldn't recommend their crayons, though, because they are the cheap waxy kind that don't wash out of anything easily. I got my daughter some Disney princess matching cards and also flashcards to learn her colors and numbers. It is a great place to buy stickers (I got a package of 1000 stickers for $1 which beats anything else I've seen). For the summer time, they also have all kinds of pool toys. I don't mind if my daughter gets toys here because if they break, it's no big deal. So far, everything we have gotten here has held up pretty well, though.
They even have scrapbooking items that are decent. During the holidays, I found name brand tights (Old Navy, Gymboree, etc.) there. I also love to get cards there because the are 2/$1.
They also have a variety of household cleaning items and you can't beat paying $1 for those. Plus, they have pretty much every kind of candy that you can imagine. The other day, I found the Curves "member" book that talks about the diet plan and workout plan. I also found a couple of hard back books from authors I really like!
Make sure you don't go on a day that a preschool or daycare is there on a field trip because it is a nightmare and they get cleaned out pretty fast. This has happened to me twice now, so if I pull up and see a bus or van from a preschool or daycare, I just turn around and leave. The store usually only has one register open, so you would have to wait in line forever. Also, they only take Discover, debit cards, or cash.
