Review content:
I will be honest. The sole reason that I went to the Hard Rock Cafe while I was in Maui was to get a t-shirt to rub it in to my coworkers. Living in the Cleveland area means that I have already sampled the food and consequently, had a tshirt that said "Hard Rock Cleveland". Since Maui was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I wanted to get a shirt from something both familiar to my non-island visiting friends but at the same time, unique.
As with most of the stores in Maui, this one is open-air, and has minimal in the way of glass in the windows. The waiters are all decked out in the same Hard Rock style attire: jeans and rock shirts, wild hair and piercings, and of course, the Hard Rock lanyards (I bought one of those too). It was clean, and the menu of course offered local fish and lots of tropical influences.
The store was small, and situated in the back of the restaurant. The selection was not overly huge, but it did boast a nice display of tshirts and pins. The staff, as with EVERYWHERE on Maui, were courteous and fun, and helpful in pointing out the sales.
Going here would obviously depend on your tastes. If you have eaten at any other Hard Rock, then you already know how most of the food will taste. All that leaves this place to the novelty is the "Maui" emblazoned paraphenalia. Which is worth the price... at least, to me.
