Review content:
The first time I went to Kamakura, it was for a birthday party. At the end, the staff brought the birthday folks a special tray with special little sundaes and a golden tree on it, and free shots of plum wine for everyone.
That's incredible service. They often treat a whole table with shots of wine or samples of something to try. The staff are all awesome, as is often the case at family-owned restaurants. The menu is also great: there are color pictures of most things, so you can see what might be in the sashimi combo platter or how the Raiders Roll is put together. It's true that it's popular and not that big, and that can be a turnoff. But the food is good and if you check out the specials above the bar you can often find toro (omg so awesome) or something equally special for sale. This is just a very nice place.
