Businiess name:  Precision Door Service

Review content:
Based on the other very positive review, I called Precision to repair a broken spring, and the technician reported that I needed a new pair of springs (expected), plus new pulleys, new railings, and a new opener. Not what I had in mind, so we compromised on only the needed repairs, which were far more than originally quoted. Imagine it's standard in the industry, but Precision charges very little for labor and makes its money by selling very expensive parts I live in a townhome community, so my neighbors have the exact same garage hardware. When we compared notes (sadly, after the fact), the quote from Precision was double what competitors charged for similar repairs. Also, when I declined to overhaul the system (which alomost anyone would, as it's well over 1,000 dollars), the techcnician asked me to sign a waiver of the warranty on the work performed, stating that I declined needed service. Have a feeling that this is how they get around having to guarantee their work. Am not sure that Precision is any *worse* than the norm (they're a big company, with over 80 outlets nationwide), but the service I received certainly wasn't *better* than average. Next time (let's hope not soon!), I'll call a local repair service instead of this national chain.
