Review content:
Saint Jude Children's Research is one of the charities that regardless of how tight money is, my family always sends *something* at least once a year to aid in the research and treatment of childhood cancers/diseases.
I find it heartbreaking when I watch the fundraising segments on television -- I wish that I could eradicate every illness that effects children, but realistically know that I cannot. By donating to St. Jude's I at least feel that I am doing *something* to help.
When I was in elementary school, a dear friend and classmate battle leukemia, and I will never forget the pain and heartache he and his family endured, right to the end of his life. He passed on shortly after his battle began, and whenever I write out a check to St. Jude's, regardless of how small, I cannot help but think of Andy, and say a little prayer for the families who are going through what he and his family endured (and pray that my meager donation may aid in ensuring that no child or family ever have to suffer such pain and loss again).
