Update to my previous review below:
My husband went in today and we were appalled to see that they now sell dyed fish. I am VERY disappointed and will be contacting the management. Dying a fish is painful and something I find that I cannot ethically and financially support. I will no longer be patronising Pet Depot unless they stop selling these dyed fish.
Old Review:
My husband and I had never heard of Pet Depot, but as we are currently fascinated by all things fish, we decided to stop in. I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of what I found. They had a great selection of pet collars (way better than their competitors!), priced about the same. They had an excellent selection of pet food--brands not available in your typical chain petstore. More importantly, these brands were priced within reason. The prices on the aquariums, though, totally blew me away--great great deals! Did I mention I really want a new tank from this store??? The fish, however, were of a rather dismal quality. They did have more saltwater than most places locally, though. I can honestly say their African Mbuna Cichlids were poor quality. But I raise those fish and know firsthand. The manager there was super nice, too. They also have a discount card where you automatically receive 5% off everything. I am really pleased to have found this store!
