Robin R. gave such a complete review. I agree with just about everything she said. We got a super cheap daily rate ($69), I think because the hotel was being updated. We weren't disturbed by the rennovations and the hotel was quiet in general, especially considering all the families and traffic our balcony overlooked. We did have a McDonald's view, but it was fine. One night my husband and I shared a bottle of wine and people watched--so it all worked out. LOVED having our own bedroom. Our 4-year-old LOVED having a bunk bed (her imaginary friend, Dora, slept on bottom). I can't say that I loved cooking and washing dishes by hand every day, but it was sooooo convenient for our family. When we go back to Galveston, I hope we can stay there again. BTW--Ask the front desk for dining coupons. We got these awesome certificates to Casey's Seafood that gave us a free appetizer and two free desserts. :-)
