Businiess name:  Stout's Footwear
Review by:  L R.
Review content:
I have shopped at Stout's shoes for many years and have had no problems with their service...until now. Three weeks ago, I purchased a pair of Clarks Twill sandals. The second time that I wore the shoes, I noticed an annoying swishing sound every time I stepped down on my right shoe. It sounded as thought there was an air pocket in the sole of the shoe. I am a teacher and stand on my feet all day, so the swishing was quite irritating. I called Stout's to see if I could exchange my shoes for another pair. They agreed, but did not have my size in stock. They ordered another pair for me from the manufacturer. After 1 1/2 weeks of waiting, they still had not received my shoes from the manufacturer. I called Stout's and they said that my shoes were on the way. After 2 1/2 weeks, I returned to Stout's (evening of May 26, 2006) to inquire about the hold up. The manager said that the manufacturer had sold out of my shoes, and they were not going to get anymore in. I asked for a refund, but Stout's manager refused. The manager was not accomodating or personable. Despite the defect, she gave me the option of an in-store credit or exchange. Since I was not interested in purchasing any other shoes, these options were not acceptable to me. In the end, I was forced to accept the in-store credit. I will NOT be doing business with Stout's shoes again.
