Review content:
Taxco Restaurant is located in downtown Sycamore at the junction of State Street and Somonauk. The owner Jesus Romero has recently remodeled and expanded the restaurant so it is now larger and has a bar area where he serves his famous margaritas and has 350 types of tequila. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner except on Sundays. All the food is prepared fresh. He even makes the refried beans from scratch. People who have sensitive stomachs find that they can eat at Taxco because he does not add preservatives and other chemicals to his food. The dishes are authentic Mexican since Jesus comes from Mexico. He is constantly trying new recipes so the menu is not boring. The restaurant is decorated with Mexican items and sometimes there is a live mariachi band playing. If you look in the front window in the evenings, you can often see soft taco shells being prepared in front of you. Jesus and his wife Stephanie have hosted a large Cinco de Mayo festival every year which raises money for local charities.
