Ok, I love Marriott hotels...from the best resorts to the simple Fairfields, I am a Platinum card holder and stay with Marriott whenever possible. That said, I didn't like this one. We spent 3 nights here during a vacation that included Charleston, SC. We picked the location because it was very close to the downtown shopping district and the old market place-and yet since this was such a long trip-the price fit our budget better than the downtown hotels. The location was great for getting to all the places we wanted to go and it sat on a Marina that could have been pretty-but it was surrounded by condo construction and we didn't even use the pool because the construction was all around. It was next to a great restaurant, and that was nice-but the room wasn't as clean as we are used to, they didn't replace the soaps daily (or leave new ones), didn't change the sheets...just not quite up to my expectation. Still love Marriotts, I will just pay a little more and stay at the Marriott Renaissance downtown next time.
