Even if you don't want to buy a book, you still need to check out the Barnes & Noble Book Store in the Victorville Mall. It is just fun to walk around or sit down on a plushy chair and glance at a book or magazine of interest to you. And, if you have children, they have a lovely children's section with tables and chairs, a railroad train and tracks for the little ones to play with, and lots of books to look at. They have several different areas in the store for coffee, CD's and DVD's, games, books, magazines, customer service, bathrooms, check-out stands, children's room, and comfortable seating. My husband and I have found excellent books to purchase about koi ponds. I have discovered some excellent books for my grandchildren. Whenever I travel to see my brother in Denver, we always go downtown to their Barnes and Noble. His kids think of it as a fun outing, and always get excited to go. I think that what I like the most about Barnes & Noble is the casualness, sit-back and relax, non-stress level of the store. I never feel pressured to get up and leave. In fact, they make me feel comfortable enough to just sit and stay a while. You are welcome to browse. There are no annoying salesmen to bug you or to follow you around like a puppy. There are clerks to help you get what you need; all you need to do is ask.
