Review content:
I've been under the care of Dr. Steven Johnson at Samaritan OB GYN since the end of January 2006. There are 5 doctors in this group: him, Dr. Graig Smith, Dr. Sandy Gardner, Dr. Terri Hoopes, and Dr. Stephen Schuermann. I've dealt with Dr. Johnson all but one time; the other time was Dr. Schuermann.
This office location is the secondary one; the main one is at Good Samaritan Hospital's Medical Office Building on Clifton Avenue. The doctors go between both offices. These are the only offices that they're at.
I like working with Dr. Johnson because he takes the time necessary to listen to the patient's concerns, makes the patient feel at ease, has a great bedside manner, is easy to get along with, and is a patient person. He has went above and beyond the call of duty when he personally kept in contact with me prior to a recent surgery that I had to keep me informed of what was going on and answered all of my questions.
Dr. Johnson also seems very knowledgeable on the latest medical news, etc., and I do believe that teamwork is very important in a person's healthcare. Don't be afraid to take control of your healthcare and ask questions!
The staff at Samaritan OB GYN is very helpful and pretty good about returning phone calls. If a patient leaves a message with the nurse's station and it's not emergent, though, they might not get a call back for a few hours due to the doctors/nurses will often wait until their breaks to check for messages. However, if the nurse doesn't call, the doctor may personally call the patient themselves.
