Review content:
Women's Fitness of Boston was my "starter gym" - I was terrified of gyms and hated to exercise. My coworker sent me here and it's a winner. Tucked into the basement of the Flatley Building on School Street (across from Borders), it has all the basic machines including treadmills, bikes, weight equipment, and ellipticals. There are classes every day during the week and the locker room is clean, if utilitarian. The guys who took over from the old owners are friendly and committed to keeping the place up - don't be skeptical that they're running a women's gym, they're awesome. The only downside here is that it's open only until 8pm, then until 1pm Saturday and closed Sunday. However, if you're the kind of person who works out before or after work, this will be perfect for you, and the price is usually right too.
