Review content:
When this place opened a few years ago, I had high hopes. The menu seems like a stroke of genius - the best local recipes from all over the USA. But the first few times (again way back) the service and quality of the food was not up to the price. But recently, on a very busy restaurant Saturday in town, we were left with The Heritage Grill as a fall back. Still, we had to wait about 15 minutes (a good sign) and while we waited I read the menu from top to bottom. Very promising.
Not to leave you in suspense, the food was quite good. We split the artichoke and shrimp bruschetta - tasty and enough for 2 at $8.95. My wife had the grilled lemon chicken with artichoke and pesto - served over angel hair (no,angel was not our waiter). She pronounced it tasty, well prepared and fairly priced at $12.95. I had the blackened jumbo shrimp and scallops New Orleans style. Good, fresh taste and not out of line at $19.95.
So the food was good and will bring us back for seconds. The room is nicely decorated, if not a little tight for space. Service on a very busy night was slow but the waitress got our orders right and she was attentive afterward (refills on my ice tea were much appreciated).
So I have a new place to dine in Denville - even though it's only new to me.
