Businiess name:  Flying Fish

We hit the Flying Fish on Saturday night after indulging in our fair share of martinis. Not wanting anything too heavy, we walked down 1st Avenue and decided to try the place. We started with yet another cocktail and ordered up a series of salads and entrees. One item I highly recommend: the goat cheese salad. Very tasty. I also went for the Thai crab cake, while one of the members of our party went for the Salmon crab cake. While appetizing, the Salmon crab cake was killer. Another thumbs up. Everyone commented on how good their particular selection was, so all in all a very good experience on the food side. If you're a wine afficianado (I'm not), this might be worthy if only for the sheer magnitude of their offering. The wine list is so complete it looks like the fine print on some sort of legal document. Surely something on the list is good, though I couldn't make a suggestion. The service was good, if somewhat a bit snooty (in Seattle?!! What's up with that?) The ambiance was solid, though. It was sufficiently lighted, rather than the depths of darkness some places try to impart on you. The restaurant is very open, with a full bar running through the heart of the place. It's Belltown so it's a bit spendy, but it's certainly worthwhile relative to the other places downtown.
