Voices publication is a great non-profit organization dedicated to publishing a newspaper that brings you news about the environment, local happenings, and somewhat liberal views of the world. The writing is solid, even though it is an all-volunteer effort (I think). The articles are always interesting and they offer a unique view of State College.
I would have to say that this publication is not as radical as I was initially led to believe, but it is still pretty liberal and open to all kinds of ideas for stories.
