Businiess name:  Millie & Al's

It's difficult to rate the top 5 drinking holes in Washington, to be even considered the establishment must meet a certain criteria; including drink specials, a certain degree of inappropriate behavior, that distinct odor of beer fusing with cigarette smoke, and the music which can make or break a dive bar. At the number one spot is Millie and Al's in Adams Morgan. With cheap beer pitchers and a giant light bulb announcing the availability of Jell-O shots, it's a great place to start or finish your evening. Wednesday is $1 pints of Miller Lite night where you can find Washington young professionals indulging in pizza and cheap beer. The bar gets crowded during the weekend so finding a place to sit can be tough but do you really want to sit in a booth and miss the spectacle including bachelorettes, newly minted 21 year olds, couples attempting to dance on the non existent dance floor, server's pushing their way through crowds carrying pitchers and beers, or that group of friends drinking out of their own individual pitcher? The bartenders and servers are awesome...assuming you tip well---remember just because the beer's cheap, doesn't mean you have to be! Sure it's like a Washington frat party but it's a great time had by all and that's why Millie and Al's takes the coveted number 1 spot for best Washington Dive bar.
