Here ye, here ye:
The Brooklyn Grinder makes a mean sandwich. Mean in the sense of being both tasty and a tiny bit aggressive. I am unable to order anything besides the turkey, bacon and swiss melt. The way this delicious thing is toasted creates an assertively hard core toasted sandwich that tears up the roof of my mouth… the 'good pain' kind of way. Mmm…pain.
This lovely sandwich shop moved to The Ave about a year ago (yet remains the ‘Brooklyn’ grinder) and is usually just the right amount of crowded; easy enough to get a sandwich at peak hours but not so empty that you’re uncomfortable. The staff is super nice and always double checks before you leave to assure you had a good meal…which so far, has always been the case. Traditional sandwich side options include potato or pasta salad (yum!), or chips.
Deliciousness plus a small but convenient parking lot makes it entirely worth a trip to the university district for sandwich satiation.
