Review content:
New Art Center is a great community resource. They offer a lot of different kinds of art classes for adults and children. The classes aren't as inexpensive as adult/community ed places, but they are also not prohibitively expensive, either. One of the best things here is the opening night receptions when a new exhibit is about to open. Those are open to the public and are a lot of fun. It's a fun space ( renovated church) with a lot of rooms and a layout that lends itself to wandering around. They also occasionally have fundraising special events. Newton Open Studios (the 3rd weekend in May) are an excellent time to visit the center, and they'll have people selling stuff as well as demos down in their classroom spaces.
