Review content:
I really like this store. There's a one hour lab, that's cheaper than the large retailers' minilabs. They can correct minor things, which a minilab at a large retailer usually won't or doesn't even know HOW to do. He's got a great selection even though it's a small shop. I love that he keeps slightly hard to find films. He carries REAL black and white film, AND he can process traditional black and white there IN the shop. That typically can't be done in one hour, but usually the next day. All of the other labs I called had to send it out (I don't generally recommend that in the first place) and then it takes a couple of WEEKS. The price for black and white is slightly more than color, but it's still less than I pay at Walmart.
He was able to correct most of the color in my prints, even though I made a big mistake when shooting. He's also very knowledgeable. He can answer questions for you, tell you how to fix things, give you advice about film, usage, etc. When speaking with him about his black and white film, I REALLY appreciated that he didn't automatically steer me to a more expensive film, but gave me an HONEST answer. Honesty goes a LONG way. He can order odd items usually, if you need them as well.
The only things I dislike about the shop is that the location can be difficult to get in to if there's heavier traffic, and there's not a lot of parking, but those are really minor issues.
This is a shop WORTH building a relationship with.
