Review content:
This is one of the numerous cyber charter schools within Pennsylvania. It is under the direction of Connections Academy, out of Baltimore, Maryland. I believe that Connections Academy encompasses cyber charter schools within appx. 10 different states. Each "school" within each state is officially a public school, however the children do all of their work at home. The school provides students with a comnputer, reimbursement for internet access, full curriculum, and some starter supplies (ink cartridge, pencils, science kit, etc).
Parents log in each day, see the lesson plans, mark attendance, and instruct their child(ren). A teacher from the school calls about every 2 weeks to speak with parent and child(ren). Children submit work via internet and postal service.
My son was enrolled for one year, and though his teacher was wonderful, we decided to homeschool on our own, giving us more flexability to go in directions we choose. However, it is a great alternative for those who want the assistance and guidance from the school.
