While conducting business in San Marcos the hotel that we stayed in recommended this local favorite. My co-workers and I arrived and thought the atmosphere nice. We sat, talked and laughed thinking we would enjoy the atmosphere and food. We began with an order of margaritas that were awful and in a glass w/ no shaker (however a nearby table ordered the same and the waiter shook and poured their drinks and left the remainder in the shaker for the guests). Two of four orders arrived incorrect (a partially cooked baked potato - hard as a rock; the complete wrong dish). The orders were returned then one of the two still returned incorrect. So that meal was 'scrapped' and a completely new meal was ordered. When it arrived it had the previously discarded 'hard-as-a-rock' potato, shredded cheese over a baked chicken breast un-melted (should have been 'smothered in a cheese sauce' per the menu - NOT). The waiter informed us that the potato had been thrown out, but all at the table knew it to be the same potato as the 1st owner of the spud had picked through it and hacked at it before sending it back. If the potato had been thrown in the trash as the waiter stated, the cooks retrieved it from the trash and placed it on the 2nd owner’s plate. Needless to say the orders were not eaten; the manager came out rude BUT did offer to take a little something off for our trouble. The 'something' off was not there when we received the bill. We complained, the manager huffed then took a discount off. We paid and left quickly.... No one else appeared to have any trouble, but then again, they were all of another 'persuasion' than our group of professionals. Maybe 'we' weren't welcomed there.... It's 2009, not the Sixties! Pros: None Cons: Cooks and staff seemed to dislike our table...
