Just thinking of this place makes my mouth water! I'm talking about My Place Bar-B-Q of Tahlequah, of course! Ah, if only I wasn't so far away now... When we lived in Tahlequah, we would visit My Place at least once per week. It was the favorite restaurant of the entire family, kids included! It is a wonderful, kid friendly place, with a fun, laid back environment. When you first arrive at My Place, you know you're going in for some real BBQ! The parking lot surrounds the awesome, wood sided restaurant, that reminds you of a smoke house that you would find in the country. When you walk in, it is the same, beautiful cedar, with high vaulted ceilings, and assorted animal trophies hanging on the walls... the kids loved to stare in amazement at one in particular, a huge, beautiful black bear. The other thing you notice before you even enter the restaurant is the wonderful aroma of the smoked beef, smoked right there on the premesis every day. That wondeful smell is just a small hint of the amazing flavor that is to come! My Place offers an extensive menu, but our favorite is definitely the buffet, which offers a bit of everything! You can try all the delicious smoked meats, of course, but they also have all the wonderful "fixins", including baked beans, fried okra, hot, fresh corn on the cob, and so much more. The price for the buffet, in itself, is another reason to eat there often! It is around six dollars for adults, with child plates for much less. I, honestly, cannot think of anything negative to say about this place... I just wish they would open one closer to Oklahoma City!!!
