When I was planning my wedding way back in 1997 I wanted the look of hand tied bouquets, but what I had the budget for was cookie cutter bouquets from the florist. I read about 2 G roses in an online bridal forum and decided that I could order direct from the grower and still get my hand ties bouquets, i would just tie them myself!
Though it's been 9 years I can still remember the wonderful advice from their customer service department on the phone about how to plan my order for the entire wedding, what kinds of flowers would suit my colors and plan the best and how to make a basic bouquet. The best advice she gave me was that with beautiful flowers in simple arrangements, you just cannot go wrong. The flowers are going to be beautiful on their own. And it was true, even now when people see our wedding photos they are blown away at how pretty the roses and sunflowers were and how it all turned out.
